Southern Bowl-A-Thon Team Rolls a Strike for Financial Literacy!

The Southern JA Bowl-A-Thon Team for 2017, pictured above in theme “Luau” garb, raised over $2200 in 2017 to help Junior Achievement of Southern Oregon with their core goals of getting financial literacy, work-readiness, and entrepreneurship into local classrooms.  Team Captains (and JA BAT Committee Members) Suzie Meraz (pictured on far left) and Jessica Hargrove (not pictured) led the team to great fun and fund raising! In addition to helping raise money for JA, Suzie and Jessica have become volunteers in the classroom for local elementary students, bringing age-appropriate financial lessons to kids who might not otherwise learn the lessons of money.
The Bowl-A-Thon is JA’s primary fundraiser that brings hundreds of financial literacy programs and work-readiness events to our local schools.  In our industry, we fully understand the importance and the need for more education and teaching about the lessons of money!  Suzie and Jessica have led our Team toward fulfilling one of our Core Values: “Be a Great Neighbor”.
